Jacklin’s back with the second single from *The Gem*, and “I Wish” pulls back from the jangly energy of “Get Away From Me” into something more reflective, built around layered vocals with Elsie and Maggie Rigby of The Maes. As we noted with the lead single, the album’s about wanting love and freedom at the same time, and here she’s writing to her younger self about that tension through the image of a bird learning to fly.
